ODI series in a nutshell
Source: Cricinfo |
Before 3rd ODI, many of us thought that Pakistan were partly undone by losing tosses and chasing under lights. However, these excuses were put to rest as England lost the toss and successfully chased under lights in the 3rd ODI to set themselves up for a whitewash. Now Misbah and Mohsin (coach) have come up with their own explanations. They argue that the same players who before the series lauded UAE as their home are now not performing well because they are playing away from home. This reasoning does not seem to make much sense. In my opinion, main reasons for Pakistan's humiliating ODI performances are lack of balance in the team, irresponsible batting and poor captaincy. Current Pakistani team is heavily reliant on spinners and is in dire need of good pacemen and a competent opener (Imran Farhat needs to go). Batting is also a huge concern as almost all batsmen got promising starts at some point in the series but none managed to make an impact. Misbah's defensive approach and waiting game was also badly exposed in this series. He must learn to rapidly adapt to changing situations at least in limited forms of cricket if Pakistan are to salvage some pride in this series and succeed in future endeavors. That being said, due to their consistent assault on Pakistan in last three matches, England are favorite to whitewash the whitewashers!
the team that learns from its mistakes is the one that is the true champion,n Eng team is champion as far as pak team is concerned favouritism is the main cause. captain n coach want to save them selves and also want to place their own friends in team, then how can we expect some thing from them? .younis, shoaib don't deserve any place in team!
