A Chakwalian in the national T20 squad

Awais Zia, a new addition to Pakistan's T20 squad against England in UAE, hails from a very hospitable and historic town of the district Chakwal (my home district), called Bhown (or Bhaun). He is a hard hitting left-handed batsman for Rawalpindi Rams in the domestic circuit. In the last domestic T20 tournament, he played a central role in Rams' progress to the final, which has now earned him a spot in the national T20 squad. For more information about Awais, visit these links: Awais Zia's cricinfo profile and articles on him on cricinfo and pakpassion. Also, watch the video below to see one of his boom boom performances.
