India's bad run away from home continued when they went down under to face an upwardly mobile Australian team. The result was another 4-0 whitewash with India once again on the receiving end. Unlike these whitewashes, however, Pakistan's clean sweep of England was least expected. The whitewash trend-setters, England, were the top ranked side with world class batting and strong bowling line up. However, England were outclassed in both departments and forced to taste their own medicine by a relatively inexperienced, but confident Misbah XI. This wave of whitewashes has certainly revived interest in test cricket, however, one area of concern is teams' ability to quickly adapt, if at all, to foreign conditions.Monday, February 6, 2012

Pakistan had a quite successful season gaining confidence by crushing the lowest ranked teams in the world. Instead of celebrating white wash victory in UAE againt the world top ranked team Paskistan team should sit down and start thinking of their opening pace attack as the opportunity of getting spinner helping wickets is not available in England,australia etc.
ReplyDeleteSo they should start working on next tour to England or any other country with fast wickets, which will be the real test of talent, experience and leadership.
Teams with stars like Wasim, Waqar, Saqlain, Yousuf, Inzimam, Saeed Anwar couldn't achieve what this team did. This is a special and memorable occasion which should be celebrating like nothing else. Batting is definitely a weak link which should be worked on and you are right that this Pakistan team is yet to prove itself abroad. So, lets take these series one by one :)
